Will chance back!!! :)

OK first of all… colleges start an application with two main basis: GPA (rigor too…) and Test scores. In your case, your SAT/ACT scores are significantly lower than most acceptancies’s SAT and ACT scores. This could hurt you pretty big because you might be just put into the “other pile” because of it… If you don’t and they give you a good look, make sure your essays are like OVER THE TOP and you def have a chance. Another thing is that your sample size of classes and grades is only 4-5 semesters (depending on early or regular app) This could hurt you because they might think you got high GPA becuase of the fewer number of classes along with only 3 APs. Your ECs are good, and its gonna come down to whether they give you a real good look and how you perform based on your essays and such…
honestly these is my opinion on your chances…:
UVA: higher match
NYU: match
U Washington: mid reach
UChicago: reach
UPenn: reach
USC: high high match to low reach

thanks- bump!!!

chance me? http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1424564-please-chance-top-colleges-really-need-advice.html</a></p>

significantly lower? I’m in the 25-50th percentile for all of those schools listed. they aren’t excellent, but they aren’t completely terrible

Bumpppppppppp

Bump!!!

Bumppppppppppp

bump!!!

come on- seriously…

Cornell- Match/ almost a Reach- better chance ED
UChicago- Reach
University of Virginia- Match
University of Miami- Match
Washington University of St. Louis
NYU- Match
USC- Match/ borderline Reach
UF- Safety
UPenn- Reach
Rice University- Reach

I’d suggest retaking the SATs. If it’s too late don’t stress, you have a ton of great qualities and the only shortcoming you have is your SAT scores. You’re shaping up pretty great for Cornell and since you’re applying ED I’m guessing that’s your first choice. I think you’ll be fine.

Thanks dude

Graduating in three years does not hurt you necessarily. With 4 years of high school however, an applicant has much more time to build a strong application (with good test scores, great recs, etc.).

Anyway, here are your chances.

Cornell CALS - It really depends on your choice of major. High reach if you applied to AEM, but low reach otherwise.
UChicago - Mid reach. U Chicago’s acceptance rate decrease by 2%+ each year. Early action is very competitive, but your EC’s, grades, and awards give you a good shot. It could really go either way.
UVA - Low reach is you’re OOS, match otherwise.
UM, UF - Don’t worry about these. You’re essentially in.
NYU - Again, it depends on what major you applied for. Stern is a low reach at NYU, but CAS should be a high match.
USC - Idk.
Wash U. - High match, but beware, a lot of qualified candidates get waitlisted.
Rice - Low reach.
UPenn - High reach for business, but mid reach for anything else.

Can you chance me back? My thread hasn’t received as much attention as yours.

thanks for the chance! :)

http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/what-my-chances/1426239-please-chance-me-top-engineering-schools.html</a></p>

Cornell -Low Reach
UChicago - Take it off the list
UVA -Low Reach
UM, UF - Low Match.
NYU - Match-Low Match
USC - Match
Wash U. - Reach
Rice - Low Reach
UPenn - Take it off the list

Your Sat Scores are holding you back. There are plenty of people that get those EC’s with 2300 that are going to take your spot, if you had a 1400 M+ CR, then I would say you’re in but those colleges are going to see you as s smart, but not crazy smart. You’re diligent, which is good, but they also want people who can handle the courseload.

Cornell- Low Reach
UChicago- Reach
University of Virginia- Match
University of Miami- Low Match
Washington University of St. Louis - Reach
NYU- Match
USC- VERY Low Reach
UF- Safety
UPenn - Reach
Rice University- Reach

This is going to sound cruel. Because of your test scores, unless you can get them up, you dont stand a chance. It especially hurts because you’re Asian. I’m applying to a lot of these schools, too. This isnt me trying to disuade someone from being compettive, but I really, really, really think you’re a VERY high reach for Penn and Chicago.

Sorry.
