<p>Hey guys! Can you chance me fore Vandy ED1? I will chance back!</p>

<p>Intended Majors: Computer Science/Computer Engineering</p>

<p>Background:
White male
Iranian ethnicity
Pretty small, elite private school in Florida (nationally recognized and very hard)</p>

<p>Stats:
SAT I: 2100 (680 R, 720 M, 700 W)
SAT II: Math II (750), taking Physics in November
<em>Weighted</em> GPA: 3.72 (Yes, I realize, it is insanely low. I switched schools from freshmen to sophomore year to a much harder private school and I couldn't really keep up with the work. My sophomore year in high school, I got the worst grades of all time, but my grades last year were great, think I had a ~4.5 weighted last year alone. Doing about the same or better this year.)</p>

<p>I think you have a good chance at Vandy ED. For now I would put it as Low Reach. I think you need a little better SAT scores and some more EC.

<p>What are you ranked at your school? And have you improved a lot from 10th to 12th grade? If so, then your GPA isn’t that big of a problem, because I’m assuming it’s pretty hard to get an extremely high GPA at your school and also because colleges really like to see progression (I know plenty of people ranked in the 30s and 40s at my schools, which is definitely a lot worse than yours, who get into Vandy-level schools because they improved from 100s to 40s in rank.) </p>

<p>How involved are you in your ECs? If your school is really competitive in speech then that’s a huge EC because it is extremely time consuming. </p>

<p>Also, you probably have heard this by now, but your SAT scores are a bit low; a higher score would help you a bunch. </p>

<p>That said, I’d say a decent chance at Vandy ED. Probably just under reach. </p>

<p>Mid to low reach. I think only your GPA will be a limiting factor. What’s your UW scale out of? Crew looks good on apps…if you contact a coach about walking on (if you want to row in the future) your chances may be improved, as rowing is serious buisness at prestigious schools. Good luck!</p>

<p>I agree with TypeRA, mid to low reach. But do you have any form of extracurricular or outside volunteering events that are related to computer sciences/your major? Because I believe the college will recognize your dedication and how serious you are towards your major, which may help as well.</p>

<p>Your GPA/SATs are pretty low even if you’re being recruited and your extracurriculars are pretty common and not really relate to CS</p>

<p>Your scores seem on track with what you would need to get in. I think the GPA is the only minor problem, but it shouldn’t be too big of one. Improve your ECs and get some more community service hours and you’ll be fine.
