Sorry for the long stat. I would like to talk about my background thing so sorry for boring intro. I had personal trauma that effected me severely. I suffered many family problem issue and still continues until day. I know that compared to poverty and famine, it is nothing but I was later diagnosed with depression. I tried to overcome it and partial it was success but I still suffer from the trauma of my past.

Will college understand my background story or will they only overlook it?

Colleges wont overlook your background story, but quite frankly you don’t really need to mention it (don’t mention depression) because your grades and scores are very good. Typically people only mention stories like that if it affects their grades. However, if you do want to mention it, have your GC mention it in their rec. Don’t talk about it yourself. And make sure neither of you mention depression (colleges react negatively to mental illnesses).
