Will colleges accept December ACT's and January SAT's?

I'm a senior and applying to schools with the following deadlines:

Jan. 1, Jan. 15 x2, Feb. 1 x2.

Will I be able to get my December ACT scores sent in time to meet all/some of these deadlines? Are colleges usually willing to wait for these? (or does it vary school to school?) If a school's ACT/SAT deadline says a certain date, does it look bad to have your newer scores sent anyways, even if it's after that date?

Also, are schools usually willing to take the January SAT scores? I'll be taking the subject tests (mainly for BU/NYU) in January, if they accept them.

Any input would be helpful.

Anyone have any input?

As to last test date accepted, it depends on college. Essentially all take through the December date, many take through the Jan date but many don't. Note that the deadlines for applications are usually not the deadlines for getting official scores in and that date is often later. NYU states on its site that all testing should be completed by the Dec date. Not sure if BU stops at the December date.

December's your best bet.

on the collegeboard website it says when the act or sat score report has to be in by...
