is it possible that i can not allow colleges to see my ACT scores and just let them see my SAT I and SAT II scores?? or will they see my ACT score no matter what and just take my best score from ACT/SAT??

ACT and SAT are two different organizations. You need to specifically request scores be sent from each ACT and SAT. They act differently, too. SAT will send all of your scores up to the date you request (if you took 3 tests, for example, College Board sends results of all three tests). If you take more tests after your request, you have scores sent again, and once again, all of the scores, even the ones sent previously, are sent to the schools you select. AP tests, however, do not get included in this. You have to request to send those separately, and you don't have to send those, if you choose not to.

ACT only sends the scores from tests that you request. They don't send every date. You have to request specific dates to be sent to specific schools. You can also decide not to have ACT scores sent.

ok so how do i decide not to have my ACT score sent. sorry if that's a dumb question.

If you listed a college when you signed up fo the ACT it is has already been sent. If you have never requested a score to be sent to a particular college it will never be sent. You have to either list the college as one of the free score reports when you sign up for the ACT or pay later for it to be sent. If you have done neither it will not be sent.

But many high schools list ACT scores on their transcripts in which case the college will see it anyway.

When you take the test, you can fill out a form that requests the schools you want the scores sent to. You can either fill it out at the test center, or I believe you have about a week after the test to request the scores be sent. I think you get a part of the answer sheet that you fill out to take with you and if you want to wait, you can send that in a few days later. You can also go on the ACT.org site, if I remember correctly, and using your registration number, you can request the scores be sent by date-- up to many years in the past. It costs money, though, if the test date is too far in the past. My D just waited until she got home to figure out where to send the scores. It was too much for her to think about on the test date. Look on the web site and see if any of this has changed in the two years since she took the tests.

My advice is to wait until you have an acceptable score and then send it to your high school/colleges. That means don't give your HS code when signing up. Take it as many Saturday mornings that you feel like sitting in a stale classroom. Pick the best score and send it. Really, I think that's a major advantage of the ACT. One brilliant score. Bam. No one knows how much sweat you put into it.

well i actually did give my HS code when i registered for the test. i don't think i chose any schools to send my scores to when i registered, but i registered so long ago that i really don't even remember. hopefully i can somehow keep my score off my transcript by speaking with my college counselor.
