Well, I put the AP class in both semesters when filling out the common app. Now I'm thinking about dropping it. If I get accepted and they find out that there was a change in my courses could they take away my admission? What could happen?

I think you are supposed to/should notify/email the college admissions office and inform them that you have dropped the course…

I need more inputs please, I’m debating dropping out to pick up a college speech class.

For UCs: They can AND they will.

Don’t know about all the privates.

Yes, you should notify the school. They would know when you send in your final transcript. When D1 asked her GC if she could drop some courses once she got in ED, the GC told her that they would notify the school. The answer to D1 was no she couldn’t do that.

You can’t drop it after you put it down on the common app

You’re not supposed to drop classes after the first semester. They could find out considering your counselor is usually required to send in a mid-year report. Unless you absolutely have to drop (like you need a certain class to graduate), don’t do it. They can definitely rescind your admission officer.

dang it, I don’t know what my future plans are. If I stay in-state which is my backup, dropping the class and picking up speech would be better and if I was going OOS then staying in it would be better. I applied/applying to Notre Dame, IUB, Santa Clara, and maybe Villanova.

Definitely meant offer…
