Will Colleges look at the New SAT scores for class of 2017???

Since College Board is changing the SAT, will it matter for the class of 2017 whether we take the old SAT or the new one?

Will colleges accept the new SAT scores and deny the old SAT scores??
Does anybody have any info on this matter?

Uh, really? You’re asking if colleges will accept the new CB standard? They will not DENY the old scores. They accept both. http://blog.prepscholar.com/class-of-2017-sat-guide-new-sat-or-old-sat

Thanks for clearing that up. I recently heard from my friend that she is going to take both the old AND the new SAT because she thought colleges might not look at the old SAT scores for class of 2017 (and the following years). I was thinking of doing the same until now. Thanks again

Most colleges have not said yet how long they will continue to accept the exisiting SAT. Of prominence, Yale has announced it will continue to acceot it through entry class of 2018, http://admissions.yale.edu/standardized-testing, meaning today’s high school sophomoes are fine taking the old test but high school freshman are not. Yale may become a guideline for others and doubtful any will have end dates sooner than Yale’s. In the past when there were changes of significance, most colleges tended to continue accepting the old test for 5 years, which is the usual accepted life of an SAT even when there has been no changes because College Board says its test should not be relied upon for admission to college if it is older than five years.

@drusba did I also see that you couldn’t superscore among the different test types, too?

Wow @drusba, I find your post extremely interesting. I’m almost sure that Yale has changed its position; I think it previously announced a policy of requiring current HS sophomores to take either the redesigned SAT or the ACT.

I saw Yale’s announcement when it was first released, a little over a month ago, and it did say then that the old test would not be accepted for entry class of 2018, and what is on its site now is a change to allow those applying for entry into 2018 to submit the old test.
