So my #1 university had EA applications due October 15th, and they said they would reply by December 15th. They replied exactly at 5:00 pm on December 15th. I got deferred.

So now, I submitted the rest of the application on January 5th, and they were due January 15th.

Is it possible for me to know before the "by April 1st date?" April fools cant be the best day for admissions decisions.

Possibly. Some colleges are a little fast and loose with the RD decisions because they want to get them out before other colleges do. I wouldn't expect a decision more than a few days early, though. In the meantime, relax! It's out of your hands. :)

I have no idea about RD, but I did get my ED letter a day early.

I've also heard some people say that it depends on the number of applicants, especially if it's a larger school. I applied to U Del and they said it could be as early as mid march or as late as April 1st- and someone who applied last year told me that her letter actually came after that.

You might also check last years threads for that particular college to find out when decisions were received. Colleges generally follow the same pattern.
