Will Colleges Require Physics?

Although I do not have my UW GPA or SAT scores yet (I took them June 6), here are some of my statistics:

W GPA: 4.4
Freshman year I took Honors Geometry, Honors Biology, Honors World History, Honors Freshman English, and Honors Chinese II
Sophomore year I took Honors Algebra II, Honors Chemistry, AP United States History, Honors Sophomore English, and Honors Chinese III
Junior year I took Honors Precalculus, Honors Oceanography, IB History Year One, IB English Year One, and IB Chinese Year One
Senior year I will be taking AP Statistics, Honors Astronomy or Physics, IB History Year Two, IB English Year Two, and IB Chinese Year Two

As for extracurriculars: freshman year I was an altar server, sophomore year I was an altar server and sang in the teen choir at my parish, junior year I was an altar server, sang in the teen choir at my parish, was a cantor at my parish, taught first grade religious education, and was a teacher’s aide, and senior year I will be doing everything I did junior year! Junior and senior year I will also be a Special Education Counselor over the summers at a summer program for special needs students at my high school.

As you can tell, I am deciding between Honors Astronomy or Honors Physics. Right now, I have two lab sciences and am worried that, if I don’t have three, I will not be accepted into colleges. I do not want to go into a STEM field so I do not necessarily need physics for college or a career, but, I do not want to not take it and miss out on getting in to schools because of it. I am looking into majoring in Special Education, and, Bridgewater State University is close to home and has a great SPED program. I am undecided, however, so I am also looking at colleges such as UMass Amherst (that and BSU are my safeties), Stonehill College, and Boston College (my reach schools – Stonehill only because it is so expensive).

Should I take physics? I am definitely undecided on what I should do and need advice.

Thank you!

I would take physics. Physics, bio and chem are the core three that colleges like to see. Unless you really want to take astronomy, which seems really cool. You can only take 5 classes at your school??
