Will Columbia rescind my transfer admission?

Hi I am a transfer-admitted student to Columbia from Georgetown University School of Foreign Service.
So I was wondering if anyone knew what sort of grades or GPA could put an accepted transfer student at risk for being rescinded at Columbia ? All of my grades were in A range (either A or A-) except one course called Map of the Modern World (1 credit pass/fail course). The thing is the only exam for this course was a final exam on May and I failed this course even though I tried hard to pass this exam because I was sick at that day (It is also a difficult exam and many freshmen fail it). They put a letter 'U' (unsatisfactory) on my transcript. This course wouldn't be a big problem if I stayed at Georgetown since I can retake it and they will eradicate the letter U, but since I am transferring out, I am very worried that this might cause Columbia to rescind my transfer admission. It will be very devastating if this 1 credit pass/fail course makes me rejected from Columbia.

Do you think they'll rescind my offer with those grades???

Any help is much appreciated. Thanks!!!

If it’s one credit, and pass/fail, I think it’s pretty unlikely to be rescinded, particularly considering the rest of your grades.

Phone them tomorrow, and tell them that you were violently ill during the final exam. They can’t prove that you weren’t, so they can’t do anything about it.

Do you think failing the course that is 1 credit, pass/fail and that does not affect my GPA will jeopardize my admission? I already contacted my college counselor and she said it would be alright, but I am still very afraid… I fear that if I contact Columbia first, they would notify the failed grade that they otherwise would not have noticed… Anyway thank you so much for your advice!!

A 1-unit course should not affect your transfer chances. If you do decide to stay at GU, get notes from upper-classmen on the Map of the World course. That’s what I did and never sat in the class again until the final exam. That’s a brutal course to sit through!
