I love this school but really dont think I can afford it without the free tuition, does anyone think they will bring that back now that all those administrators left?
their ONLY hope at remaining a top academic school is with a reinstatement of full tuition scholarship. It just doenstn
make any sense for students to spend that kind of money on a school with literally zero amenities. Plus the highest
cost of room and board in the nation. having said that , i am confident the AG will make them see the light.
after reading the AG’s report , i would say it is unlikely to see a tuition free model again.
A real shame. And apparently no restituion , which is just unbelievable. Maybe the Clinton foundation will step up
and support this unique FREE higher education model. They sure can use the help and it will take more than just
alumni support. Might be time to embark on asking non-traditional sources for charitable donations outside of alumni.
Watch “The Ivory Tower” a documentary on higher education in the US. Cooper Union’s decision to introduce tuition is covered in detail. Having watched the video to me it seems unlikely that Cooper Union would reverse their decision. Once an administration has had to put up with all they have had to live through I don’t know what would lead them to change course now
that’s unfortunate, thank you for the replies
It’s highly unlikely. I would not apply if I were you.
The school is getting worse and worse every year, with more drama, more dysfunction, and more hostility.
They will increase tuition every year, and the quality of education will only decrease.
Watch “The Ivory Tower”. It’s the ruinous debt the school took on to build that new fancy building, not administrator salaries, that is ailing that school.
The fish rots from the head. The administration (whatever is left of it) was (and in some cases still is) horribly corrupt and self-serving.
Oh, and that fancy building? It cost 175 million to build, but it’s completely useless. There is always a shortage of classroom space, the elevators are constantly overloaded with people (when they are working), and there really aren’t any places for students to gather, besides the (too small) “cafeteria”.
