I had a couple D's my first two years of high school and just mediocre grades altogether. My junior year I started doing better, getting only a few C's. This year I have made honor roll and was accepted to CU. I had impressive grades for the two quarters so far in senior year (my hs goes by quarters) when I applied, with a 28 ACT and a strong essay as well. It's last quarter of my senior year, I am still taking 7 classes, however I slipped up a little in a few of them and expect a D in English and a C in Precalc. My other 5 classes should be all A's. But with this drop at the end of senior year and my previous poor grades, would CU Boulder revoke my acceptance?

Generally you’d have to really flunk a couple of courses to get rescinded. I think you will be OK, though I’d advise trying to raise that D in English just for appearances sake.

I am doing everything I can about it, late work makes it near impossible because of the teachers policies.
Does the fact that I took 7 challenging classes throughout my senior year help my case, considering most seniors take only 3-4 during the last semester?

The people that know the answer work in admissions at CU Boulder. Why don’t you call or email them? If it turns out it does affect your admission you may be able to work something out with them such as a summer class at a local CC. If you wait until they see your transcripts in August it will be too late to work anything out. And if you’re thinking that contacting them will somehow call it to notice but otherwise it might “slip under the radar” you’re mistaken; not only that, people that face up to their troubles get a lot more admiration than those that hope they can skate by.

Thank your for your answers. I will wait to see my final grades and if I have anything lower than a C i will call the school.

Hopefully you’ll bring up that grade in English. If not and you contact the school, post again before you do so because there is a formula to follow that maximizes your chances of a good outcome.
