I'm considering taking the ACTs because of poor SAT scores (a 2100 is not going to get me into Tufts). Do you think I'll benefit by trying the ACTs and will they make it to the school in time for the January 1st deadline? Thank you!

If you're taking the Writing section, then probably not. The writing section takes an additional two weeks to grade.

A 2100 is fine!

thanks. I don't think I'm going to take the writing section because I'm taking SAT IIs on Saturday and hopefully they will be good enough. I'd just like to have another set of scores to look forward to because I really really really want to get into Tufts... I'm stronger in activities and in my transcript than in my standardized test scores and they worry me.

take a practice test and see if you can score a 32 or above, cause thats what your sat score is. If so, take it and send them to the school. Even if it doesnt make it to them by jan 1st they'll most likely see your scores before they make a decision, so if you send them your sat scores in the meantime you'll be fine.
