My first semester of CC is over now and I’m extremely disappointed in myself. I’ve had an hard time adjusting to college and now my grades and GPA are horrible. (I have three B’s and a C) My top choice for transferring is the University of South Carolina into the Darla Moore School of Business. I’ve read that the program is very competitive and now I feel like I’ve ruined my chances. If I make excellent grades and pull my GPA up for the next three semesters will that help or will the first semester continue to haunt me? Has anyone transferred into this program? What else do they look for?
Wow, that’s not bad! As long as you show an upward trend, you will be fine. Don’t be so hard on yourself. Best of luck to you!
@Midnight23 I have to disagree with @Veronicuhh a bit, as I find your first semester to be pretty bad to be at a CC, but yes an upward trend will make your application look better. However, you’ll be competing with students that have made close to straight A’s in all their classes before they transfer. I don’t much about USC’s Business school but that’s something to keep in mind.
