Will dropping a class look bad?

Hey, I’m taking Calculus right now in my junior year, even though i’m through with my math requirements. I really hate it with a passion, and the only redeeming thing about that class is if i pass the ap, i might get some credit. but i was really looking into going to st. johns college, and they dont accept any ap’s…so would dropping the class look bad on admissions? i have no interest in math whatsoever, so if i were to go to a different college, my major won’t involve anything math related anyway. i know i might have to take some freshman level math courses, but they’re probably easier than calculus at my school. at this point, cal is just a big waste of time for me, but i don’t want it to negatively affect me later on. if someone could fill me in, i would appreciate it…

does it go on the permanent record?--if so, then yes it looks bad

Yes it will look bad.

Yes, on some applications that I filled out, it had a specified section for dropped classes.

Regards,

It depends. Are you failing the class? If you're getting a D or F, then it might end up better to drop it. However, if you think you can end up with at least a C, then it might be worth just getting it over with. After all, almost half the year is gone, why not just stick it out for another 6 months?
