Will dropping a class second semester lower acceptance chances?

I'm thinking of dropping my AP English class second semester and doing independent study English. I would still take the AP English test, but my AP English class is honestly just so horrible I think I would do a better job on my own. It is a complete waste of my time, full of busy work, and we haven't even done one essay yet.

Would colleges know I dropped it before they made their decision? I know that there is a mid-year report, but I don't think it would show on that if I time it right. Is there any chance of my acceptances changing their mind after they know I dropped the class which I said I was going to take?

Also, what about things besides college applications. Is there anything my grades for second semester matters for? (assuming I get at least B's). Such as: scholarship money, transferring after sophomore year in college, etc.

thanks

does anybody know?

have you considered taking it online? that way, you won’t have to drop the class and won’t have to take the one at your school either.

my school doesn’t offer that.

im kind of in the same boat.

physics c, the class, is a killer, while the AP questions and everything aren’t so bad.

im averaging a 70 in that class, not because it is hard but because the amount of work is ridiculous. its killing my gpa and time. my second semester is already over. is there ANYTHING i can do?
