Will dropping Calc 2 hurt my chances for UCD?

I'm a BioSci major at a CC hoping to transfer to UC Davis next fall

Im taking 18 units this fall and my Calc 2 professor is the worst. I really want to drop that class and take it during the spring with another professor. Only problem is that UCs only consider up to your fall grades, and they'll see a W in Calc 2 which is one of the required pre-reqs. Only reason I'm asking is because UCs take into account your pre-req grades the most right?

If I'm able to get my GPA up to a 3.34 with a W in Calc 2 and take it in the spring again, will that hurt my chances than if I stick with it?

I’d really appreciate some advice. I emailed the UCD transfer advisor about 4 days ago and they have yet to give me an answer. Anyone else have any knowledge on what having a W in a required pre-req would impact your application?

If you’re going to get a bad grade, might as well get a W instead and make it up in the Spring. If you only need until the completion of Calc 2 for the math requirements, then I would say you’re all good for UC Davis.

^ I agree with that guy. a W is better than an D. With that said a 3.34 GPA with a W in Calc isn’t very good.
