Will D's affect your acceptance in UCs?

So, my question is, if i had D’s but i have disadvantages such as being low income, first generation, and california resident.

UC GPA 3.1
high school GPA 2.7
SAT 850

Is there a chance i’ll get in ANY UCs?

Thanks…

I think D's only matter if you got them from the required couses, not the extra ones.

You'll probably need to go to a CC for 2 years and then transfer to a UC. It's not just the D's, your stats are too low.

Unfortunely, mine are from the required classes.......How much will it affect my acceptance? I mean, i told them how i had alot of stressed because of my low income. (Really, my family is really poor, my dad doesnt' work because physical disability and mom is the only one working to pay for the family.)

They will not let you in. Even at cal states if it is a a-g requirement and you don't get a grade of at least a C, your acceptance will be taken away from you.

However if the class is a recommended unit like say you already did 3 years of math(which is required) then in your fourth year of math (what is recommended) and you get a D they will still let you in because you met the requirement.

My friend got a D in her required math and they took her acceptance away until she made that class up in the summer at a community college, and that's that she was in EOP and EOP sometimes lets you slide.

what you should do now is go to adult/night school or a community college and try to take the class again so you can bring that grade up and they wont rescind your admissions come summer.

I applied to Cal States through EOP and got accepted to many of them. So if i don't get accepted to any UCs, then i'll go to a cal state.

I also applied EOP through the UCs too.
How about Riverside? I have heard of people getting in with a 2.0 whom had D's too.

Does anyone know of anyone who got accepted to Riverside with low GPA or had D's?

Yes, lots of people.

Hi can you tell me their GPAs? Thanks. I'm desperate >_< What year were they accepted in?

You guys need to understand that they will not take you in if you get D or Fail in a required class.

Of course you can fail a class like PE Or health or even get a D for that matter and you'll still get in , but like failing something that is necessary like algebra, Geometry, English, you won't get in.

how about spanish or something?

It will only hurt you if the the low grade was for the first two years of Spanish, because only that is required.

I know a girl who was mostly honors classes in HS (private, catholic) and got a D in Honors Chem--she did not get into UCSC (her dream school) but who is now in the honors program at Chico State.

I know another girl who had a rigorous public school education at a very highly ranked public, Silicon Valley, who got a D in 4th year French. She got in to UCSC.
