Will Duke rescind my early acceptance??

I was accepted to Trinity under the Early Decision contract, and am worried about my semester and final grades.

Projected grades (unweighted):
AP Physics BC: 95
AP English Lit: 80
AP Spanish Lit: 93
AP Calculus AB: 83
AP Studio Art: 90
Honors Government: 96

The 80 in English is freaking me out, as is the 83 in Math..... the Math grade might be even lower.... Are these grades something to worry about??

No - you will be fine.

butbutbut everyone says Duke is known for rescinding acceptances!
… I’m a hispanic female, in case that matters? Up until this point, I’ve had straight As and A+s throughout high school, though.

I would say no. And the fact that you’re Hispanic only helps you. So calm down and enjoy your holidays :D

You guys don’t smell ■■■■■? Lol

I don’t really smell a ■■■■■, because I’ve seen many, many posts like this over the last few years. I’ve never read a report of anybody being rescinded for a couple of Bs, though. Some people have received letters admonishing them, but usually for worse results than this.

hahah you guys think I’m a ■■■■■? I’m 100% serious. The low 80s are freaking me out because those aren’t the grades I was accepted with, you know?
But, thanks for the input!

You won’t be rescinded for a couple of B’s. It’s usually only serious academic policy violations (e.g. plagiarism, suspension) or significant drops in academic performance (i.e. from straight A student to multiple C’s) that raise concerns.

You will only be rescinded with a D or multiple C’s. Your fine with all A’s and B’s. Even a solitary C will not get you rescinded.

There are always so many of these threads around the end of fall semester and the end of spring semester

They are AP courses…you are fine!

c’s warrant a rejection
