will the early acceptance show financial aid package? or do they have to wait till the FAFSA. I'm planning on applying ED to JHU, but I'm worrying that if JHU doesn't give me a reasonable financial aid package, there would be no way for me to go to the school.

Worst case scenario I fear:

I get accepted.
No financial aid info yet.
I miss regular deadline for other schools.
I get a bad aid (i'm well qualified, its just that some areas might be misleading on my tax forms)
I'm in deep trouble.

could anybody clarify my understanding?

This questions is already thoroughly answered on the ED FAQ list on the JHU Admissions web site: http://apply.jhu.edu/faqs/ed.html

"As an Early Decision candidate, you are eligible to apply for all types of need-based aid offered at Hopkins. Choosing Early Decision will not limit your financial aid options or consideration for merit scholarships.

If you are accepted ED and qualify for assistance, you will receive an estimated aid offer along with your acceptance packet. This offer is based on your family's most recent tax return, current year estimates, and information submitted on the College Scholarship Service PROFILE form.

A final aid offer will follow in the spring, pending receipt of your Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA), and your parents' most current federal income tax returns. In the unlikely event that information on your FAFSA and tax returns varies significantly from original estimates, your financial aid package could change.

If we are unable to offer you adequate need-based financial aid, you may be released from the Early Decision contract. Because no additional need-based aid would be available to you as a Regular Decision (RD) candidate, your application would also be removed from consideration altogether."

thanks sounds good
