With average SAT scores that will improve to very good, for I didn’t study the first time, really interesting and well written essays in which my desire to go to Brown is evident, great GPA and transcript, great ECs and recs, and an aunt and uncle alumni connection, I am aware that I am among/below many of the potential candidates for the class of 2011.

Will going ED, statistically or actually help me? Should I not use my ED if it won’t help me in order to keep my options open?

Yes, ED always give an applicant a better chance. Whether you want to use it or not for Brown is your decision, if it's your absolute first choice do ED but if you're stuck between several schools it might not be the best.

If you're still worried about "keeping your options open," then ED is definitely not right for you, no matter how much of an advantage it gives.

I mistyped what I wanted to say....my main concern is if I don't go ED to Brown and get denied admission, will I question ED as being more advantageous. I'm actually not sure why I said "in order to keep my options open" Brown is def. number one to me....I wrote that at about 3am this morning. Thanks guys! Hope to see you there next fall
