Will failing/dropping one of my online AP classes affect admission decisions heavily?

I’m taking 6 AP classes this year. 4 in school, 2 online. My planned major is Environmental Engineering.
My two online AP classes are
AP Probability and Statistics, and
AP Computer Science A.

I’ve fallen behind significantly in both of those classes, and may have to resort to focusing most of my attention on one of the classes, so that I pass one while failing the other. Would it be better to drop a class than to fail it? Logically speaking, if I stick it out and still fail one of them, I could still get some gpa points, albeit very low, but if I drop then it’ll still affect my transcript but with zero gpa points out of a potential 6 for that class (my school’s weighted gpa scale goes up to 6.0).

Quite frankly, it’s very likely that I won’t be able to catch up in time for the midterm exams in BOTH of my online classes, and I calculated my gpa and figured out that even if I dropped one of the classes, my weighted gpa would still increase if I maintained a 93+ average in the rest of my classes (which is something I can confidently assume).

To get an idea of what kind of colleges I’m looking at, my top 2 picks are
Georgia Institute of Technology, and
Clemson University (respectively).

Also, to give you an idea of how good/bad my transcript looks:
I am rank 37 out of 337 students in my class,
I got a 1420 on the new SAT, and a 740 + 770 on the SAT Math I and Math II subject tests, respectively.
weighted gpa of 4.507, unweighted 3.634
weighted gpa will almost definitely still rise if I fail just one course this year.
unweighted gpa will definitely fall by a few hundredths if I fail just one course.

Essentially what I’m asking is
Will a failed or dropped course alone, without any drop in weighted gpa/class rank, be considered heavily in my admission to colleges.

Dropping looks a lot better than failing. I think an F would have a negative effect whether or not it went into your GPA.

just as halcyonheather said, dropping out IN TIME is better than ending up with an F in the class. My question is, are they letting you drop out of the class first although it is nearing the end of a second quarter.

Failing a class will negatively impact you. Dropping a class is not good either, but it is not as bad as failing. Note that if you drop a class after you have submitted an application listing the class, then you need to inform colleges (or it could be grounds for a rescinded acceptance).
