I hadn't intended to apply to FSU's first freshman deadline, but I realized that my chances would be better for October 17. Anyways, I have yet to send my sat scores in and I was wondering if I should send them in regularly (takes 2-4 weeks by mail-time I don't have) or if I should rush them (takes 2 business days but is expensive). What should I do?

Are you in a public HS in Florida? If so, you need to have then sent but not rush. They will be on your HS transcript and on FACTS.org. So they only use the official ones to corroborate the scores they will already have. They can go regular not rush.

Call admissions to verify this to be sure.

Yes, I am in a public HS in Florida. Are you sure rushing isn’t necessary. I’ve seen an unofficial copy of my transcript and I don’t think I’ve ever seen an area for Standardized tests. I’ve spoken to my guidance counselor and she never said anything about this.

The deadline is October 15

^I’ve looked at the official FSU site, I believe it’s the 17th of October. Does anyone else know if I should have my scores rushed or not. I really don’t have 40 dollars to have them rushed. Really wish I had invested in those free score reports . . .

Your scores are sent electronically whether you rush them or not. FSU should get them almost immediately. Talk to the testing service about the time frame from when you sumbit your request and when they are electronically sent. You should be fine with regular score sending. It may take FSU a few days to post them to your status page.

OK. It’s posted on CollegeBoards website that electronic submissions take 1-2 weeks to arrive and this doesn’t include the time it takes to process them. When I tried to use FSU as my score recipient it stated that the method they were sent was by mail and I couldn’t find an option to change that so I don’t understand how they could be sent electronically. There are only 8 days till application materials are due. Any one else know what I should do?

Call collegeboard directly. Ask if scores are sent by mail or electronically. Fsu recieved my daughters scores within days last year. She applied to several FL state schools and all her test scores were sent electronically. Call the office of admission tomorrow ask them how they recieve scores.

How long did it take you Wallacefl to send in those scores?

I literally just decided I want to apply and I’m sending my ACT scores because all other schools got them within 5 days while SAT scores took 2 weeks. It could be that they’re just not entered in the system until then, though. They probably only look at mail or electronic stuff that is marked before the 17th so I think you should be fine.

So do you guys all agree that I should just pay online the 10.50 regular fee tomorrow. I’m just so worried they won’t get it before the 17th, but my parents really don’t have 40 dollars to waste. When should I expect them to have the scores? If they don’t get them by Wednesday or Thursday should I just rush them then?

The best source to answer your question is the admission office at FSU. They are extremely helpful and friendly. By contacting them you know that the answer you get is the correct answer based on their admission policies. Mine answer is only based on my experiences. Please contact admissions.

Fsu will still take the scores after the deadline. A fsu rep came to my school and said that sat scores from October and november will be used in first decision. Just note somewhere that you have scores on the way.

^Yes. I know that they can accept October and November scores, but they also need scores on file in order to view the application, I believe.

YOU ONLY NEED YOUR APPLICATION COMPLETE BY THE DEADLINE. If scores and transcripts are enroute you are fine. CALL AND CONFIRM but you need the application, essay, resumes etc in, and scores taken and en route, and transcripts en route. You do not need to pay extra to have them rushed.

So I did call FSU to determine what I should do about my scores. It turns out that even with rushed shipping it will still take 2-3 weeks just for them to have them on file. But I did speak with a freshman admissions director who said that if they could get a hold on a faxed copy of my sat scores from CB by my guidance counselor they would put those on file. But they would still need my official rushed scores in order to review my application.
