Another conditional admission thread....
anyway, will getting a c (or 2 c) matter to UCB? will they consider how heavy my work load is for this sememster? I am doing ochem, bio, physic, and calculus, possible 2a and 1 b and 1 c (or 2a 2c!) which should give me 3.0.

It all depends on unit distribution. If the units from your two courses where you will earn a grade of 'A' are heavy enough to displace the units from the other two where you can earn grades of 'B' and 'C', you should be fine. As I recall, from reading the conditions of admissions, you should maintain a 3.0 minimum.

As long as you maintain at least a 3.0, which seem like you are.

Once you get to UCB, your gpa will reset anyway.

I am tired of counting my gpa now!
all of the 4 classes i am taking are 5 units, so it doesn't matter.
so as long as i get 3.0, it doesn't matter, right?

Yes

10 char

dream: Correct. As long as its 3.0

Wrong, you need to get at least a 3.0 without getting anything less than a C. So if you have a 3.2 but have a D, you gotta make some phone calls.

Read the entire thread before you post. He's not getting anything lower than a C.

But yes. You cannot get anything lower than a C.

Gosh! people.

Yeah I did, just pointing it out in its entirety.

Really? 5 units each? At my school, physics and calculus are only 4 units. I am not sure about biology. Chemistry is 5 units at my school. I realize it is different at each school... but this is core math classes. I Chemistry was 5 units because how long the labs are.

Well that depends...is it calculus for business and social sciences or regular calculus? Regular is almost always 5 units.

yea, they are all 5 unit in my school. Do u guys consider this work load is too much, or it is regular.
I am asking because I am trying to plan out my fall schedule. I realize university is so different from cc, I don't want to die in my first sememster.
I want to finish one of the physic class (pre-req 5units) in the cc, while studying as a full time student.
Will taking 4 science classes kill me?
Here's my plan... (temporary)
physics 7b at my cc
mcb 100A
mcb 102 (this is a pre-req for many classes, the prof is not good, but I guess I need to get throught it)
and NST 103 ??
I think this is too much for me, only 11 units at cal....what can I do ...

Yes...however, it depends on the deparment/major you will be applying for. But in general, a C will bring you down.
