Will having only 2 years of foreign language decrease my chances?

My school only has one Japanese 5 class, which I want to take but unfortunately cannot because that would mean dropping AP Language and Composition, a class I really want to take.
I'm interested in applying to selective schools like UCLA, Macaulay Honors, Boston College, UPenn, UChicago. Most of these colleges have 2 years of foreign language as a requirement, but more years are preferred.
Does having only 2 years significantly decrease my chances of getting in? I am currently a junior and I plan on taking 4 years of all the other school subjects as well as art electives. I have been in honors and AP classes (3 APs by the end of junior year) since freshman year and my average is about a 92.
Please help me and give an opinion! Thank you so much.

You should be fine. As long as you take other challenging courses and maintain a high gpa, i don’t see any problem with taking only 2 years of foreign language. However, some ivies do require 3 or 4 years of foreign so you should take that into consideration.
