Will I be able to go to college?

hello
i have filled out the fafsa and still did not receive any aid yet school starts next week on monday and i dont think i will make it sinc i dont hav money to go its a commnity collge

my college has made corrections to my fafsa & has procesd it, does this mean i will be getting my aid?

You need to call the cc directly and ask them.

cc? what does that mean?

Community College. Call their financial aid office.

Okay my award package didnt come in today and the aid office said ther is nothng that they can do. ugh i dont know why they make finanial aid so difficult

looks like i wont be going to collge anytime soon

Is this the first qtr you are attending college?
FAFSA was available for the 2011-2012 school year on January 1st 2011.
If you filled it out recently, that may be why it is taking a while to be processed.

Students are currently filling out FAFSA for the 2012-2013 school year.

If you need aid before fall of this year- the correct FAFSA would be the 2011-2012.

How long ago did you fill it out?

When did you file the 11-12 FAFSA and what was your FAFSA EFC? If it’s below the Pell cutoff of 5273, someone here can give you an estimate of that aid.

i filled mines out in march 2011 still havent heard from anyne and tey just told methereis nothing that they will be able to do

my efc is low and i qualify for the pellgrant, but it seems i wil just have to miss this semester and wait until my aid comes in

how long does it take to get the fafsa money? also is there even a point of filling fafsa out if a student does not qualify for the pell grant? this must mean a lot of people are payinng out of pocket just to go to school

please excuse my spelling

You say your college made corrections and sent it for processing. Why did they make corrections, and what were they?

The computer software colleges use often prevents them from packaging a student’s aid while the EFC (the number generated from your FAFSA) is “unofficial” … that is, while it is still processing. The updates the school did resulted in your EFC being unofficial until the school receives the new FAFSA. You can probably go into your FAFSA now, though, and see the changes they made … and the new EFC. Try that, and see what your EFC is now. Post back, and we can possibly guide you further.
