Will I be able to register for honors courses in the Spring and taking 300 levels.

Now that I know I got a 102 on the A-100 midterm, as long as I don't screw up K201, I will have a 4.0. Even if I do slip up in K201, I will have well above a 3.7 because I will have 20 IU credits. So I'm wondering how Hutton eligibility works in the Spring.

Would I be able to register for honors sections in the Spring during the first week of classes if there is space available or not?

Also, I have developed a plan that avoids taking E-201/202, M-119, and M118 at IU, and take I-Core the spring of my sophomore year (they offer Honors I-core in the spring now). The only problem is that it requires me to take two 300 level S&H's this spring. I found two seemingly relatively easy grade distribution S&H 300 level courses that I could possibly take this spring. Would it be ridiculous to do so. If I didn't take those 300 level courses, I would have to take two of those classes I am trying to avoid, so it's not like I would have an easy schedule either way.

Honors I-Core is still only available to those admitted to the Business Honors program, right?

You won’t be able to take any Hutton or Kelley honors classes until next Fall. You apply to Hutton immediately after getting this fall’s grades and meeting the application requirements.

It is still a good deal though, just taking one year of Kelley honors icore prereqs and some Hutton honors electives (also, it is possible for non-direct admits to get into Kelley honors, which would let you into honors Icore and other honors classes). Some of the business honors courses worth taking for various reasons are A205, A207, and X202. My son took those, but not honors legal environment of business or honors X205 so I don’t know enough about them to recommend them.

Just make sure you apply early to Hutton. My son’s friend waited until February, and they told him it was too late to get in.

I don’t see a problem with taking the 300 level S&H classes, so long as you are certain that you can squeeze in finite, calculus and the two intro econs before Icore. You definitely need all but E202 complete before Icore, but it would be good to get that one over with before Icore too.

What are the pros and cons of taking I-core during the 4th semester?

Pros:
can study abroad in the following summer,
has the opportunity to go after multiple majors?
…

Cons:
compete with upper classmen,
has to take 3 courses in the summer after freshman year and squeeze more courses in the 1st three semesters,
no chance to accumulate working experience in that summer,
…
