Will I be able to transfer if I have over 65 credit hours?

Currently, I am looking to transfer from a small public university to another public university. Due to circumstances of my university not offering all the courses I need to graduate with my major, would I have a chance to transfer? I am a Chemistry major with a 3.27 GPA and currently have 63 credit hours. I expect to earn 14 more. Unfortunately, I missed all the deadlines to transfer in Spring for most of the major universities in my state (Georgia), and I don’t know what else to do.

It depends on which university you’re planning to transfer to. Usually, while you can apply with >60 credits, most schools will only accept a maximum of 60. You can call the school to ask about how their credit transfer policy works.

I think you should hold off on taking more credits, especially if you’re paying to attend your current institution.

I have a full scholarship covering me whereever I go. I’m already at the midterm period of my current uni, and if I withdraw, I’ll have 6 W’s on my transcript. Another option I’m looking at is to change my major, but I really want to stick with my current major.

I never said to drop your current courses. I said that you should hold off on taking more credits.
