Will I be able to transfer to a UC in less than a year?

I am a high school junior right now and I have already completed 10 community college classes. I am on track to finishing 20 by fall 2020, so will I be able to transfer to a UC as soon as I get my 60 credits. Is it ok if I got to community for only 1 real semester after I graduate high school, and are UC’s ok with that?

Grades?

An A in 8, a B in one, and a C in the other

Keep in mind to get to a top tier you need really good grades. I’ve seen many people up here regretting overdoing the high school college courses because the grades weren’t stellar. You will need to wait a year to start at a UC even if you apply the Nov right out of hs. I suggest slowing it down and doing two semesters at the CCC.

Explain how this is possible when as a HS student you’re allowed only up to 11 units max per semester at a CC and 7 in the summer.

the assumption may be AP credits recognized by UC.

in addition to community college classes.

If you are a HS student right now, you will not want to transfer but just apply as an in-coming Freshman applicant but with a Junior level standing if all the CC units are UC transferable. As a dual enrolled HS student, you do not need 60 semester/90 quarter units, just take a reasonable CC load since all your CC grades will be part of your permanent college record.

I have been doing courses since 8th grade as a special admit

Agree with #7 that you may just want to apply for frosh admission.

Your college courses taken while in high school may or may not be the optimal ones for transfer preparation (i.e. major preparation and general education / IGETC), so even if you have 60 units, they may not cover all of the needed subject requirements to transfer.

If you enter a UC or CSU as a frosh, you do have the option of graduating early if your transfer credit fulfills some of the lower level requirements, even if it does not fulfill all of the lower level requirements.

i agree- apply as a freshman.
