Hi all! I’m here to ask for your opinion on whether or not I will be likely admitted into CUNY Baruch. I am in love with the school and VERY anxious to hear back on my admission decision!
I am a Spanish senior and come from a NY high school of 4000+ students. I have obtained an overall transcript average of 98.3. I did not take the SAT but received a 26 on my ACT. I called CUNY Admissions and they told me that they translated my ACT to an 1160 two part SAT. I have completed Baruch’s supplemental essay which I was told was very good. I also completed their resume/brag sheet writing about my National Honor Society membership, club involvement, and work experience.
I believe that Baruch is a fairly competitive college and I am worried that I may not be accepted. What do you guys think? Thank you all very much.

Mean SAT (CR + M) : 1262
Mean ACT: 28

Your GPA is well above the Mean and your ACT is below the mean. I would say you have a good chance of being accepted, but I would recommend that you retake your ACT and target a >/= ACT score of 28. You should also try the SAT to see if you perform better on this test.
If you are looking to major in Business, I would suggest applying to CUNY-Brooklyn College (Murray Koppelman School of Business - B.B.A. and B.S.) and CUNY-Queens College. Both Brookly and Queens have fairly good business programs (Accounting, Business Management, Economics, Corporate Finance, International Business, or Actuarial Studies [Queens only], etc.).
Brooklyn/Queens College Stat:
Mean GPA: 88.4 / 88.3
Mean SAT (CR + M) : 1175 / 1158
Mean ACT: 26 / 25
Acceptance rate ~35% / 40%
Thank you very much for the reply! I already applied to Baruch and am just waiting on a response from them now so I would be unable to take my ACT again. Hopefully my AVG will help even out the test score!
As silly as it sounds, I am unsure if my 98.3 is weighted or not. My school sent out a senior year student standings report and I was listed to have a 98.3 average. I also know that this grade was placed on my transcript that I can view online at any time that was sent to CUNY Baruch using my OSIS #. ( Student ID #, as I am currently in a public HS in NY. ) I agree that my act is a little behind but like you said hopefully my GPA evens that out.
Not sure if my message was too long and got deleted, or if it’s right here already invisible to me lol. But if so, I am not interested in Brooklyn for my already well known knowledge of it and the fact that Baruch is better for landing an internship and studying in the field of investment banking.
