Will I be admitted?

Dear friends,
I am an international student. I am in grade 11 right now and will be giving 5 APs in May 2009 (and 1 in 2010) and I will be doing IB certificate (not diploma). I am also doing a course that is affiliated with CBSE in my school. Now, I am not taking any English course in AP or IB, only in BSEISI (Board of Secondary Education of Indian Schools in Indonesia), the course that is affiliated with CBSE. Is this fine? I will be giving my TOEFL in mid-2009.
Will the fact that I don't have any English course from renowned boards be hazardous to my application form? I am a little unsure, so I request you to guide me. My school only offers IB and BSEISI. I will be doing the AP course myself.

My AP courses:- Physics C: Mechanics [2009], Physics C: Electricity and Magnetism [2009], Chemistry[2009], Macroeconomics[2009], Microeconomics[2009], Calculus BC [2010]

My IB Certificate (not diploma) subjects :- Physics HL, Mathematics, HL, Chemistry HL, Economics SL, Bahasa Indonesia (Foreign Language) SL.

My IGCSE (Grade 10) exam score:-
Physics - A*
Chemistry - A*
Mathematics - A*
Biology - A*
Bahasa Indonesia (Second Language) - A*
Additional Mathematics - A
Economics - A
English as a First Language - A
Information Technology - A

Now, what are my chances to get into an average state university or similar universities?
In USA, is the AP only considered for college credits or for admission too?
Will the fact that I am not doing IB diploma be hazardous to my application?

Best regards,
Chaitanya.

I think you’re fine. You don’t really have much to worry about. AP is mainly considered just for college credit. I don’t know what an IB diploma is.

The one thing that will determine whether you will be admitted into “an average state university of similiar universities” is your ability to pay. Most state universities and similiarly ranked schools provide very little, if any, financial aid to international students.

If your family can pay for you to attend school, your chances are excellent for admission to most state universities.

what about boston university? how are my chances there?
dchow08, i think i AP is used for admission AND credits, but I may be wrong. Please clarify.

Take the SAT, the gcse scores don’t count for much, neither do AP’s for admissions imo
