Will I be applying blindly to schools for regular decision?

So I have applied to two schools for Early Action... I find out if I got in to either of them on Dec 15. The deadline for regular admission at most schools is around January 1. I need to submit a request at my school for transcripts and guidance recomendation 3 weeks before any deadline. So does this mean that I will have to apply to all my schools before I find out if I got in Early Action to my schools??? Seems like a big waste of time and money to apply to all my other schools if I end up getting in to my Early Action schools... but better safe than sorry.

You should definitely submit your request for transcripts and recommendation letters and even get your RD essays together because you never know how the process will play out. You can even send out the applications so they could open a file and just send the fees once you make up your mind.

If you need to compare offers, then you should definitely send in an application to your financial safety of a school where you would be lined up for merit money because you will not get your EA financial aid packet until april and you don't want to be stuck at a school you cannot afford.

don't assume you will get in at either one of EA (although you probably will). get your RD materials together. the only case where you can trash your other applications is when you have acceptance at a rolling school where ou're extremely happy to attend.

in my case, i have 1 EA, 2 rolling and 4 RD. if i get an acceptance by any of the rollings, i'll only continue the EA and one of the RD apps.
