Will i be behind in AP Eng Lang

Im a sophomore and im taking both AP Euro and AP Eng LAng and AP Eng is ridiculously easy compared to Euro. For Euro i spend most of my hours of hw a week doing euro hw and i take probably the least amount of time doing hw compared to my other classmates, but i feel extremely well prepared for the AP exam. I am pretty confident i can get a LEAST a 4 which is because my teacher was so hard on our class. AP Eng on the hand, we literally do nothing in class. Like ppl in honors eng do more work then us. No one takes the class seriously which i though was great since i was getting good grades in it, but now the AP exam is coming up and i feel like im going to do terrible on it. We've just started looking at the format of the test and prac stuff on it while in Euro we've been doing this since day 1. The only thing we used to do since the beg of class till now was read newspaper articles and analyze them and write persuasive essays, but they werent AP essays. Will this be good preparation for the AP exam and also is AP Eng Lang normally this easy compared to AP Euro.

A veery small percentage of AP Eng Lang takers actually get a 5, but if you or your teacher preps well, you can do it :)

Our school requires you to take British Lit junior year, so our ENG Lang class was basically that until about March when we started prepping hardcore for the AP. Honestly, there isn’t much “prep”, other thank learnign to write well and identify rhetorical devices.

Check out Chelsea’s website on the top of this forum, and I have a couple of Eng Lang exams i fyou’d like them to practice. Make a teacher’s account at AP central and you can get the old essay questions WITH sample essays - one graded 8/9, one in the 5-7 range and one in the 1-4 range.

I don’t think you need to prep THAT much; no need to fear! Just put in a teensy bit of effort with these things, and I’m sure you’ll do well :)

As to Euro, get “Modern European History” if you don’t have it yet. Not an official review book, but a godsend nonetheless.

Good luck!

Yeah. I second the above poster. And MAKE SURE to understand Tohlman’s method.

I recommend CliffsNotes for both.
