I was born in VA and studied in VA thru middle school. I’m studying my HS (IB) outside US.My parents continue to work and live in our home in VA paying state income tax and county taxes.
Based on VA State council of Higher education guidelines, i should be eligible for in-state tuition. But would my application be considered In-state or OOS by UVA ?
Part of the application to UVa involves determining whether a student is in-state or not. I remember there being some odd questions about how long your parents have lived in Virginia, etc.
I’m not an admissions officer or anything but I’d imagine that you’ll be fine. The whole point of out of state vs in state is less about state pride and more about taxation purposes. The fact that your parents have been paying income taxes seems like a strong enough indicator to give you the go ahead, in my opinion.
