Will i be eligible for F.A. if i invest in stocks?

im currently eligible for financial aid and pell grant. i have around 3k left over and i want to invest in stocks will i still be eligible for F.a. and pell if i invest in stocks? thanks.

FAFSA does not treat stocks any differently to cash in the bank. $3000 cash = the same thing as $3000 in stocks as far as the EFC formula. This is for FAFSA. I don’t know how profile treats this.

Make sure you won’t need the money while you are in school. Selling the stock may have an impact on aid as any profit would be treated as income.

Of course in this market $3000 in cash could very easily wind up equal to $1500 in stocks.
