Ok guys, I wanted to clear some things up regarding qualifying as an NMF, after being an NMSF. My PSAT score was a 224 (in Michigan, if that matters at all for consideration). My UW/W gpa is 3.92 and 4.47, respectively.

My SAT score was a 2110, which I took this November. I honestly took it kind of lightly and didn't prepare very much for the test. Some people have told me that as little as a 1900 is enough to become an NMF, whereas others have said that a corresponding SAT score must be earned. In other words, I would have had to earn a 2240.

Which is the truth, or is there another way the selection is decided? Thanks for reading!

You don’t mention your essay and the school paperwork that the GC or principal submitted. You did do that part of things, yes? Your SAT is fine, above 1960. If you haven’t gotten any C’s you’re good.

A couple of the things that you mentioned are not part of the subjective decision process for making finalist; they are just yes or no questions. So…

Did you meet the cutoff for Michigan? Yes.
Did you score over 1960 on the SAT? Yes.

The scores are not looked at beyond yes/no. I’m guessing that you don’t have any C’s with an unweighted GPA of 3.92. Did you submit your essay, and do you have your school’s endorsement? It sounds like you are good to go if you met all the deadlines.

Alright, thank you for the link! That relieves a lot of pressure.

and yes, @celesteroberts and @ScienceGirlMom, I sent in the essay and school requirements in time for the deadline. And I don’t have any C’s :)

Thanks for the info!
