I have a 3.7 GPA, a 33 ACT with a 600 in SAT Math II and a 790 US History. I've only had two Cs in high school (Pre-cal 1st and 2nd semester). Entering the calculus final, I had a 70% (as you can see, math is not my strength). I ended up with a 66% on the final, and finished with a 69.1% or simply put, a D.

I have already been admitted to Tulane University, as well as University of Colorado and University of Oregon. I am also applying to Georgetown University, Boston College, Emory University, American University and University of San Diego. My concern is that I will be rescinded from Tulane and that my application will be discarded from these other schools (I'm relying heavily on my essays and test scores).

There is a slight chance my teacher will give me a C, but its not particularly favorable at this point. If he does not, what should I do? Because he decided to post final grades 2 weeks later than every other teacher, I can no longer take the class at a community college during the spring, as the classes are now completely filled. I will definitely address the issue to my schools, but any insight, especially if you've experienced similar circumstances, would be appreciated.

Explain the situation to your teacher and see if you can get some extra credit

People at community colleges always drop classes last minute so keep checking to make sure the classes are still full.

I don’t think they will rescind you for one bad grade. You have good scores and a good gpa. An overall good record with 1 blemish shouldn’t be a big deal. Provided of course that your acceptance wasn’t conditional on not getting a D in calculus.

The grade will not result in recision as long as you still graduate. I wouldn’t even address it with the schools where you are already accepted, there is nothing to address. As far as the schools that you still have apps pending, I am not sure what you could tell them that helps you. You will just bring extra attention to it.

Let it go. You are already in 3 schools, one pretty selective (Tulane). But like I said, unless this actually affects your graduating, which I assume it doesn’t or you would have said that and since D is still passing, they will not rescind your admission. You can start sleeping well again. Just be careful last semester not to let senioritis get you.

Some schools will rescind an admission if you don’t demonstrate an ability to maintain your grades. So, keep your other grades strong and you should be ok.
