Will I be rescinded???? Please HELP!

I've posted on cc before, but its been a while, and I forgot my password so I had to get a new account.

I might recieve two D's in Ap calculus and physics. I take these classes online, and mistakenly thought that some ap reviews were extra credit when they were actually part of the grade and thus didn't do them. This dropped my physics grade from an A to a D, and my calculus grade from a B to a D.
I've sent an email to my online teacher asking him if I can redo the practice exams because I know the material, but I was just stupid and accidently didn't do some work. As these grades are online, they might not even appear on my final grade report, so i listed having taken these classes on my app to stanford.

I've good at these subjects and science in general (intel sts finalist, rsi, isef winner, etc.), and recieved a likely from stanford. I recieved all A's in all my other classes at School (IB biology, IB history, IB english and IB spanish). It's not like I slacked off senior year, but rather just made a really stupid mistake.

how likely will my acceptance from stanford be rescinded if I can't bring these grades up because he won't allow me to redo the work???

I think most people know little about rescinding acceptances (what makes it likely or not likely, or how the process works); I'm sorry I don't have an answer for you. I just wanted to give you my best wishes and encourage you to seek an answer in other avenues as well.

they will prolly send you a warning letter first, and then you can explain what happened.

thanks. i just don't know if i should wait until stanford makes the first move, or should i (especially since the grade might not even appear on my grade report).

i guess these forums won't be too useful, but I can't really email the admissions office because they probably won't be able to give me a direct answer either. ahhh!!!

dont make the first the move

i actually think you should email your admissions officer. i was worried about my grades, and then i emailed her to find out about my situation, and she told me she was glad that i took a proactive approach about my worries.

i ended up not being in a real bind or anything, but i think giving your story and everything right away will let the admissions officer be more forgiving.

Floppy, can i ask what the admission officer said?

I'm trying to see if I can get these grades excluded from my final grade report because they didn't even show up on my progress report and I took these classes during my free time.
The thing is, I took IB physics and IB math last year, so basically my AP calc and AP physics class should count at the same thing to stanford.

ok well my situation was that i got 3 b's last semester, and 6 b's this semester, and the admissions officer told me that admission wasn't in jeapordy, but she did appreciate my proactive approach about the situation.

wait, did stanford see your ap calc/physics grades for 1st semester? if they didn't then i would just stay quiet, but if they did then you should definitely talk to them.

Can't you just drop those classes, since they are on-line? If you already took IBs in the same subjects, what's the point taking them again?

It's a hard question. before they rescind, they would definitely consider it thoroghly.

there wasn't really a point to taking the classes again, but i didn't have any other classes to take (stupid mistake on my part).
Stanford saw my first semester grades (A's), but they were handwritten in my counselor last minute. I'm hoping when my final transcript is sent, these grades won't count and stanford won't notice they are missing, especially since I've taken these classes already.

Thanks for all your suggestions.

I think you should write a letter to them and explain your circumstances. Don't be optimistic in this case and hope everything will turn out what you want it to be.

Like one of the above posts, be proactive.

I don't know. It doesn't seem like a good idea to draw attention to a poor grade in an on-line class that you should not have been taken (or given credit for) in the first place, because you already took essentially the same class earlier. I really don't understand why your HS allowed you to take it for credit...
