will i be rescinded?

Hello!

I was accepted to Yale SCEA. I have been taking Multi-variable differential calculus through the Stanford EPGY program online. I am currently struggling to self-teach the material and am behind schedule. I noted on the common app that i am studying Multi-variable different calculus through EPGY. The class is graded as Pass/Fail. If i were to fail the class because of difficulty, would I be rescinded? Currently I am taking 6 classes 4 of which are AP's at school and I will have straight A's.

Thanks!
Al

Hi Yeedo,

I am currently taking Linear Algebra through EPGY, so I am familiar with the programs.

First, I must admit it would be bad if you were to fail the multi course. However, luckily, as is the nature of the program, you can set your own pace! I would suggest you use supplementary materials to help guide yourself. I, myself, did not take multi via the EPGY program so I am not fully aware of what it covers but I will say that the professor who taught me multi was a first generation citizen who had an enormously strong Russian accent. I never understood what he was saying so I used MIT’s opencourseware on youtube to supplement my knowledge. I would advocate its use for your studies.

Remember give it your best and work at it!

Alright! I def know what you mean and i will try my best
but if i was to fail… would you say that i would get rescinded for sure? the future is looking bleak for me

A failure would most likely get you rescinded.

So the fact that its an online math course that I have to learn on my own doesn’t change anything? Do you think they’d understand if I did not pass it but attempted to?
I will have straight A’s for all the classes on my school transcript this one is just particularly different and challenging for me.

Is your proposed major science or math related?

i dont think you need to let them know you failed. this isnt something affiliated with your high school or requirements to graduate high school

No it is not math or science related really.
@completegraph
yea, thats what i would assume. although I did put it down on my common app as a course i was taking and i also mentioned it in the additional info.
but it didnt show on my transcript that my counselor sent in…

bbuummppppp

can anyone help me? please?
bumppp

Why don’t you contact the school for accurate info instead of asking faceless people on a website?

Well that could result in them realizing that they should request a transcript through the out of school class program
Can anyone offer me advice instead of chastising me for using this forum as a helping tool like the thousands of other people in the cc community?

i don’t think anyone is trying to chastise you; the fact of the matter is we’re mostly high school students who can’t give you a definitive answer, so if you want to know how important it is you should really contact the admissions office. my personal opinions is that since it’s not a main course it shouldn’t be a big deal, but i honestly have no idea and i really think that you should contact the college.

thank you smwhtslghtlydzed! i now realize that everyone is simply try to help
any other advice?

buuuuuuuuumpp

bummmmmp? please

Did you contact the school?
