2310 SATs, 97/98 average in high school, 3.75-3.8 first semester, extra heavy load, lots of good college activities, some decent high school ECs, only a freshman so not much in the way of professor recommendations...

Seriously, how hard is it to get in to any of the small, prestigious, LACs as a transfer. Sticking to the northeast region. What are they really looking for?

I don't know if you'll be able to transfer, but I would advise that instead of spending your time posting 27 "chances" threads and asking us if we think you'll be able to transfer, you spend your time making college applications and asking admissions counselors at the schools you would like to attend if you'll be able to transfer. Yes, you have a solid shot at Vassar etc, but these things are unpredictable.

Terrarum, I have spent plenty of time making my applications, but I don't think you have any concept of how frickin scary and stressful it is for me to transfer. I'm not the one transferring because "I didn't like my school's location". People think that applying to college in high school is bad, it's really not so terrible. In college, you have one very very small window of opportunity, and if you somehow do something wrong and miss it, you're stuck in the most torturous unfathomably hellish place forever. Seriously, it's suffocating. Don't criticize my chances threads until you really understand how desperate I am. I know I have a decent chance, but if I got rejected, well, there's only so much time you can spend in a prison before EVERYTHING is ruined forever. I haven't posted 27 chances threads, I've posted two, and no one really responded to the first one, so I decided to make a shorter version. I think it's understandable for me to be a little anxious when my LIFE is at stake here. And I'm not being melodramatic at all, there is no way I can stay at the place where I currently am.

lostincode, I don't know what you're talking about. Why the hell would I be planning a suicide attack? That's not particularly funny. No one here is committing suicide, and you're very much bordering on the offensive.

It's nothing to do with not attending a top ten school. I already am attending a fairly prestigious school. What I said was that I would not be able to survive if I stay here. And that is indisputable. There's no way I can stay here indefinitely.

I don't really think there's that much wrong my academic record except for not having a perfect 4.0. It's just that I need to get out of here, that's all. And I'm not sure I would mind zombie schools so much either. This place is a lot tougher to survive than a zombie school... And brand, haha. Yeah, I really don't think my having issues would doom the school for you. The name of the school is not important, there are plenty of happy people here who love their school. I am not one of them.

I don't understand why worry then... if you think you have basically a really good transcript and you can do good essays... that's basically all there is...

i mean sure there's a CHANCE... but right now CERN is testing black holes which has a CHANCE to destroy all of us...

yeah though I'm with you, I hate my school and I wanna get into my top choice too lol

Sorry, when I say I won't be able to survive, I don;t really mean in a physical sense. It's more metaphorical, like my soul would die. I was not going to kill myself or anything. That said, I think dropping out, and not graduating from college, would be far worse.

With your stats I'm sure you could find some school that you like...remembering the fact that HOW you apply your education is 100x more important than WHERE you received your education.

LaxAttack, that's very true. I also believe that receiving an education is the most important part, and that can be near impossible if I'm somewhere I'm not too fond of.
