Will I find it difficult to get into petroleum engineering major at university of Cal

<p>I'm looking forward to enrol at the university of Calgary for first year engineering programme.However only 59 positions are allocated for petroleum engineering. Do you think I will find it difficult to get into this coursein the second year?</p>

<p>I'm a student with a high school GPA of 3.85. U of C 's competitive average needed for engineering is only 2.00. Do you think I have a good chance of getting into this course?</p>

<p>Thing is even if you dont get into petro eng if you get into chem or maybe even mech you will likely be performing similar tasks. Remember petro engineers were all formerly chem engineers its only relatively recently that petro eng degrees have become available. </p>

<p>I wouldnt worry about it too much just work hard next year. Really its that simple.</p>
