Will I find people like me???

Hi guys…
I’m a senior who just finished applying to colleges and I was just wondering about the presence and concentration of a certain group of people in college. Sooo, a little background, I’ve always been the sole Palestinian in school and I was wondering if higher up or elite institutions like ivies, liberal arts, other <15% acceptance rate colleges has a good handful of them. Idk I’m just curious, maybe I’m just tired of not really having that sense of community in the same picture as academics. Personal experience or statistics would be awesome. Thanks

Palestinian per se? Not going to be a majority but more than one. Elite schools tend to have large % of international students, some of whom would be Palestinian.

On any college campus, you are likely to find a sense of community in student groups with others who share your major, hobbies, or career plans, with students of all races.

Elite schools tend to be ethnically diverse but socially homogeneous. If you encounter Palestinian students at a <15% school, they are likely the sons or daughters of doctors/lawyers/academics/business magnates. If you happen to have such a background, you’ll likely find your group.

I believe that Palestinian Arabs are one of the most highly-educated nationalities in the world, with most members living in “diaspora.” You are part of a small nationality, therefore, but one that is represented at elite universities everywhere. My son attends a small liberal arts college that draws about five young women per year from the Middle East (Palestine, Syria, Jordan, Israel, Lebanon, etc.) through the Daughters For Life Foundation. They all receive scholarships through that organization.
