Will I fit in at Emerson?

I really, really love Emerson and I'm interested in a Communications major, but I'm so worried I won't fit in. I've heard that it is mostly (all?) hipsters and indie kids. That's not really my scene.
I don't know how to really describe myself, I'm sociable, I love going to the football games and dances at my school, I do three varsity sports a year and I'm pretty involved in my school. I hate saying it but from an outsiders point of view I suppose my friends would be called the "popular girsl", although I try to stray from all the high school drama in that group. I definitely like to party so that's also a concern of mine, although I'm not really into the drug scene.
I feel like I get along with mostly everyone at my school and I'm definitely not judgemental in any way, my concern is that I won't find anyone like me at Emerson? I'm open minded about who I'm friends with but from what I've heard/read I don't know that other people will necessarily be open minded about being friends with me?

Please help!

My D is a Freshman at Emerson. I would not call her hipster or indie, she went to our local Catholic private school (lol). She is passionate about acting (theater). She hates sports though and Emerson is in division three with not many teams if that is really a concern for you. My D is not a big partier but enjoys music and dancing. But you are right downtown Boston so no worries about the party scene. Be aware that Emerson seems to be very demanding with regards to college work. When I took my D yes there were some kids that you may call hipster or indie, but it is a lib art school focused on communications, acting, lit., and marketing so it is to be expected. All that being said my D is really happy and tells me her courses all foucused on theater are amazing. I would suggest that you visit during the school year to make your own conclusion.

My D is currently a senior Marketing Communications major at Emerson and has been very happy there. She too is not into the hipster/indie scene and has found many like minded friends there. She said that the Marketing major is not very demanding (unlike the acting/theater dept) but she feels like she has been very well prepared for going out into the real world in May.
