will i fit in?

I don’t think that was what metalforever was trying to say. From what I have heard, there are all types of people-but most very friendly and welcoming, to everyone. Definitely not exclusionary. I’d bet that every CMU student can verify that very shy people find friends at CMU.

ooh ok yay :D

I think the strong personalities means people actually have personalities and they don’t seem cut out of stereotypes.

i kind of like stereotypes someting though… it makes me feel like i belong somewhere…

This is what I meant.

People here are much less arrogant than many other top-tier schools, which is partially why I liked it.

As a very rounded person, I agree with metalforever that CMU students tend to be very lopsided and have very strong personalities. Everyone can find a group of people like them self, and pretty much all students are friendly. CMU’s orientation is one of the best in the nation and will help you meet tons of people. CMU is also really diverse, so it has a lot of organizations to help you meet and get to know people with similar interests. You’ll fit right in if you’re the shy geeky type, and I’d recommend the KGB for all people who consider themselves that way.
Don’t worry, this school is one of the most accepting places I’ve ever been. aside from maybe Morocco and Rural China.
