<p>I've been thinking about Texas A&M and UT for a while now. I finally visited College Station today and it felt completely wrong. I plan on visiting UT in the near future but I have some questions: what are the people like? I'm worried I won't fit in. I've lived in the Dallas area all my life. Any comments would be helpful :)</p>
<p>No one can really tell you if you will fit in, thats just something you’ll figure out. If you didnt like A&M you’ll more than likely like Texas.</p>
<p>I’ve heard that most people are stuck up. Is that true? I know you’ll find some people like that anywhere but is the majority that way? Sorry if that sounds rude :/</p>
<p>I dont attend UT so i cant get specific, but as you know you have people like that everywhere.</p>

<p>I’m going to be a freshman this upcoming fall, but I do know that really UT has to be diverse just by the nature of its size. Really, yes, the Greek scene is always a go to for parties as a whole, but, at the end of the day, you have literally thousands of people to find your niche at. And maybe it’s me stereotyping, but I feel that A&M has a large overall feel of being more conservative, less “freeing” feel whereas UT just feels natural. Everyone is chill or if you are competitive, then there’s that, too.</p>
<p>ANYWAYS, the point is you WILL fit in at UT NO matter your major, school, whatnot. And I think stuck-up is more of the pride thing, kind of what Duke has going, of having a AWESOME football team with some pretty great programs to boot. And there’s nothing wrong with some pride, especially burnt-orange tinted.</p>

I can understand that. I definately think I would do well in a “free” feeling environment. That was my major concern about A&M.</p>
<p>A&M is not as diverse as UT. I know because I go there lol. So it is probably harder to fit in there than at UT, though I’m sure since there are TONS of people at either school that you would fit in somewhere. Don’t worry about it. I’m sure you’ll find your cliche within the first couple of weeks. :)</p>
<p>I live in Dallas as well and I’m sure you will fit in. Out of the 40,000 or so undergraduates, I’m sure your bound to find people that you like. Just be friendly and less worried.</p>
<p>Since I am from the Austin area I may be biased, but I can tell you that it is very diverse here and I absolutely love it. No one cares about what you dress or look like, it’s more about whether you are okay with just being yourself. I would say that people here are carefree and free-spirited and I love it so much, there isn’t any other place in Texas that I would want to be.</p>
