Hi i just visited UA, and really want to know my chances of getting in

GPA- weighted 4.0 UW- 3.4
ACT- 23 (im planning on taking it again for a higer score)
I'm in few clubs and volunteer at a few organizations.
Im also planning on writing a killer essay

Usually you apply either undecided or with a major and that can affect your potential of being accepted. For example, a friend and I had similar grades and EC but she got rejected with one major and I got accepted with another.
Also, this part of the website might be helpful to you; though it doesn’t list ACT…<a href=“Undergraduate Admissions | University at Albany”>http://www.albany.edu/admissions/faq.php
If it helps at all, when I was accepted my profile looked about like this:
GPA: 94
SAT: 1110 (taken once)
Yearbook&Art Club/some volunteer work
Good essay
Really good state test grades (consider those as well)

What major did you and your friend apply for? I’m planning on going for the PA program.
Also since the number of Asians in UA is very low, and since i am one, are my chances better?

I can’t remember for sure which major I applied for (either Japanese Studies or Psych) and my friend didn’t mention but I know it was neither of those… I think it was a science track, though… I’m not sure if your ethnicity would help you or not. Sorry I’m not of much help with these latter questions…
