I'm a straight "A" student, one of top ten in my class, 5.31 GPA and a few extra curricular activities. But my SAT score is not great. I have 1290 (CR+M). According to UTD site, the minimum SAT score needed for this scholarship is 1350. I was just wondering if my other credentials would help me get this scholarship? Please share your thoughts and experiences. I would like to make a decision in a couple of days about making another attempt at SAT. Thanks a bunch for your insight.

They will look at you as a whole, so one category will not make or break you. Also, perhaps you might want to try taking the ACT? It is quite likely that you will do very well on the ACT, because it differs from the SAT in that the ACT mostly tests what you have learned.
