Will I get financial aid?

Here is my situation:

I know to acquire regular financial aid from the college I need to be a US citizen or be a permanant resident (have a greencard)

I applied as an international student to Georgia Tech and got in!
I've lived in the States on a visa and now I'm in in the process of getting my green card.
I've received my social security number and work authorization and I'm in the final stages of the process. (immigration lawyer says 2 months).

I applied for fafsa and turned in all my paperwork.

I've been in contact with georgia tech financial aid and told them my update on my immigration status and waiting for a response.

My question is: do you think I'll get financial aid even if my green card doesn't arrive till June? Is it too later? Will the college make an exception?

The only way to know is to ask the FA office. It depends on how many people accepted, how much funding is left, etc.
