Will I get in EA? HELP!!! :)

<p>Hey guys,</p>

<p>I need your help on deciding whether it's worth it to apply EA to Harvard or any other Ivies... and what other schools I should apply to.</p>

<p>I'm a Asian, female junior at a public high school right outside of Washington DC.
GPA: 4.2 weighed (weird system), 4.0 unweighed
Rank: 1/about 450
SAT: 2360 (800 on math, 780 on CR, 780 on Writing)
SAT II: Math IIC 800, US 800, Chemistry 780
APs: 5 on World History, 5 on Calc AB as a sophomore
took Chem, US, and Calc BC as junior (don't know scores yet)
taking US gov, Comparative gov, biology, french, lit, multivariable calculus, and stat as a senior
ACT: 34
EC -
9th grade: Class secretary, French Club Officer, School Music Patrons Scholarship, some clubs but no special talents, volunteer work at Red Cross, Big Brother Big Sister program, marching band 1st flute, science olympiad 3rd in district
10th grade: model un conference awards, school math awards, AIME qualify, research on fibonacci sequence and number theory with a well-known professor at University of Michigan, varsity math team (2nd in district)
11th grade: County Youth Leadership Program School Representative, national honor society, mu alpha theta, chemistry honor society, french honor society, some model united nations conference awards, AIME qualify, varsity math team (2nd in district), city youth orchestra
Summers -
Went to summer school to get ahead, internships listed below, Concordia language villages, international youth democracy summit at Unversity of Virgia</p>

<p>Hook: Internship at an Embassy in Washington DC, internship at a senate campaign, internship at a law firm, lived in 4 countries, done a lot of work in international relations and political science, which are what I want to study in college.</p>

<p>I know I don't have national awards or leadership positions. I haven't found the cure for cancer and don't have a New York Times bestseller under my belt. My school doesn't really enter its students into national competitions, except the AMC. So, I would really appreciate your inputs on any national competitions that I could enter or national leadership awards that you know of.</p>

<p>Thanks so much!!!</p>

<p>If you are liberal: Accepted EA</p>

<p>If you are conservative: Deferred EA and either rejected or accepted RD, probably rejected.</p>

<p>Does harvard really discriminate like that against conservatives? Because I really want to found a young republicans club at my school next year, but i dont want it to be a backlash.</p>

<p>Well, heck, if Harvard cared about political views, conservatism would probably be an advantage! Harvard does love diversity!</p>

<p>But no, to answer that question, Harvard does not discriminate against conservatives in the application process, though the campus is predominantly liberal (...but what campus isn't these days...).</p>

<p>"I need your help on deciding whether it's worth it to apply EA to Harvard or any other Ivies"</p>

<p>hmm I wonder. Yes, of course it's worth a shot but no guarantees.</p>
