applying early D
Alumni-My cousin was class of 2003

PLEASE GIVE ME ANY ADVICE.
I WOULD REALLY APPRECIATE IT.
GIVE ME TIPS, ANYTHING.
THANKS SO MUCH:D

I don’t think Vassar asks whether your family member is an alumni if they are outside of your immediate family. I suppose you could mention this in your interview and supplements when it asks you why you are applying.

If you are applying ED, you probably already know that you are likely get in with your stats and EC.

thank you so much for replying:)

I HOPE I get in. You never know with the budget crisis and competition is getting tougher every year:0

Yeah I’m pretty sure you’ll get in (: especially with early decision, thats a big plus.

My stats were about the same as yours (I dunno about GPA and SATs though) and I got in through regular decision.

Good luck! you still have two years.

Yeah, you seem pretty much like a shoe-in…

Not to be a downer, but my stats were better than yours (no offense, and of course you don’t know what they’re going to be in 2 years)- as in a 4.0 gpa in all honors and AP classes, top 3% of my class, in multiple clubs with many leadership positions, student body president, and active in national leadership organizations- and i got waitlisted.

so you never know. plus, you’re a sophomore. You don’t know what grades you’ll get next year, what your SATs will be, and if you’ll even still like Vassar in a year or two.

thanks LOST for your honest feedback.
your advice will help me.
:D

I think one of the problems that the Admissions office has with extra brilliant students is skepticism regarding their interest levels and whether they consider Vassar a safety school. By applying ED, you’re addressing the questions that they might have towards you. Best of luck! We just may meet in two years. I have been waitlisted…
